The rumours around Ivan Cavaleiro’s future continue to get some attention from the Portuguese press, even though they don’t have much to say about the situation itself.
Yesterday, local newspapers had been covering the reaction from fans who didn’t want the player to leave Wolves. Now it’s turned into a Benfica issue.
Newspaper Record uses a short space to say that in case Cavaleiro moves to Huddersfield Town this summer, then Benfica could end up making some money with the transfer.
They say that The Terriers are ready to pay €14m for the player, which would allow the Eagles to get €400k for being the club where he spent his academy years.
However, earlier today, Cavaleiro himself has wrote a tweet saying ‘Looking forward to start the season with my club’.
Maybe that’s a pretty clear sign that he’s not leaving Wolverhampton this summer, or at least he doesn’t want to.
The reports in Portugal haven’t been backing up claims Cavaleiro is moving to Huddersfield Town, but rather covering the interest that generates for them.
