Over the past few weeks, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been speaking to the Austrian media on a very regular basis.

On September 2nd, the 51-year-old told Sky Austria how he sees Crystal Palace’s future.

Last week, the Crystal Palace boss was named the manager of the year in Austria. He then spoke to Laola1 discussing his plans for the Eagles. The coach also explained he has surpassed his own expectations at Selhurst Park.

Monday’s edition of Der Standard focuses on his management, coaching techniques, time at Crystal Palace and other topics.

Back in May, the London club won the FA Cup, and the success helped them qualify for Europe this season. The Austrian newspaper state Glasner believes in continuity, and this has been the ‘foundation for success’.

Der Standard also had a chat with the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager. He replied “you have to like people” when asked about the important quality in a coach.

They also specifically asked Glasner about the ‘special requirements’ for a Premier League manager, especially when it comes to handling pressure.

Responding to that, the Crystal Palace manager said: “The job of a coach is more extensive in England. You have an incredibly high status; you’re the face of the club. In England, no sporting directors or club presidents speak to the media.”

He was immediately asked whether being in the public eye suits him.

“When you take a job in the Premier League, you know that’s how it is. If I don’t want to do it anymore, I have to look for something else,” Glasner explained.
