Brondby’s Clement Bischoff was close to a move to Brighton in the winter transfer window but a transfer failed, much to his disappointment.

The player himself has spoken about his frustration regarding how things had panned out and the Danish press has been quite transfixed on the 19-year-old’s situation.

The full-back has faced some tactical difficulties with the Brondby senior team in the past few weeks due to the arrival of new manager Frederik Birk. The talent hasn’t started the last two league games and also had to play for the reserves’ side in the Future Cup.

TipsBladet have now spoken to Birk about why Bischoff has been facing problems since his move to Brighton didn’t go through.

When asked about whether the youngster is ‘stuck’ tactically, the Brondby manager said: “Yes, you could say that. The last time I had to set our front trio, which Clement primarily competes on, [Nicolai] Vallys had gone a few games in a row, [Mathias] Kvistgaarden was back in my lead, and [Yuito] Suzuki has delivered a towering level at the start of the tournament.

“So there are three good players that Clement is competing with. With him and with Filip [Bundgaard] and Mileta [Rajovic] we have good people for the offensive positions, and they all have to take up the fight.”

Bischoff has two goals and six assists while playing with the first-team this season and hasn’t contributed to a single goal since the move to Brighton failed.

This is perhaps a big indicator that perhaps Brondby have somewhat moved on from the Dane and it might now be time for him to seek an exit.

It remains to be seen if the Seagulls come forward for him again or not, and it’s likely he’ll hope – although not expect – that to happen.
