Stoke City goalkeeper Viktor Johansson has admitted he dreams of playing in the Premier League but insists he’s happy where he is.
Fotboll Skanalen cover comments from the 26-year-old today in which he admits moving up to the Premier League remains in his dream plans.
Reports have again linked the Stoke goalkeeper with a move to England’s top flight after he continued to impress for the Potters last season.
The goalkeeper is yet to reach the top level of English football despite coming through Aston Villa’s U23 set up and then joining the same level at Leicester in 2018.
He’s since moved to Rotherham and spent four years there before his move to Stoke City in July 2024. He managed 49 appearances in his first season with them, conceding 64 goals but keeping an impressive 15 clear sheets. He had 36 clean sheets in 144 games for Rotherham.
His 14 clean sheets had him joint fourth in the rankings for the Championship last season, perhaps leading to Premier League interest this summer. He, though, insists Stoke is perfectly fine.
“I’m at Stoke and I haven’t heard anything else,” he said.
“If something comes up, I’ll have to decide on it then. I’m there and I’m very happy. I just do my thing. If something comes up, something will come up. Otherwise, I’ll keep on rubbing.
“Of course, I dream about it (the Premier League). But everything has its time. I’ll continue to do it as well as possible day in and day out. If that step comes up, I’ll have to decide on it then. But I’m very happy and I’m not stressed.”
