Southampton have appointed Tim Lederer as their new chief scout, with the 36-year-old signing his deal today.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Lederer has signed a long-term contract with Southampton to take up the role as their new chief scout.
According to his information, everything is done with Lederer. The announcement on his appointment is expected to happen in the coming days.
He arrives after a three-year spell with Hoffenheim, where he has been the squad planner for the U17s, U19s and second team since July 2022.
His appointment comes as part of major changes behind the scenes at Southampton this summer following their relegation from the Premier League. The Saints finished bottom this season, narrowly avoiding Derby County’s record low points tally.
Will Still has already arrived as their new manager while Johannes Spors has been busy actively recruiting and promoting talent within the club over the last month. Nikola Ladan was recently appointed as Head of International Scouting in a move from Genoa, where he was International Football Scout.
Now he’ll be joined by Lederer, who has signed a deal to become the club’s new chief scout and will be announced shortly according to Plettenberg.
