Leeds United are targeting RSC Anderlecht forward Mario Stroeykens and have started initial conversations with the 20-year-old.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who states that Leeds have held initial discussions regarding personal terms with the player. No offer has yet been made to Anderlecht for the player.

Stroeykens has been linked with a move away from Anderlecht this summer after managing five goals and seven assists in 39 games for the Belgian club this season.

West Ham United were credited with interest in the middle of May, with that report stating that Stroeykens is ‘highly sought-after’ this summer.

Now Leeds have entered the fray, with Tavolieri reporting that initial talks have now taken place with the player’s entourage over personal terms. He doesn’t indicate how these talks went, just that there’s been contact from Elland Road.

There’s also no mention of the price Anderlecht would want for their player, but his current deal expires in June 2026. That means they could be forced to sell this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Perhaps that is why Leeds United have now made their move, eyeing up the Belgian talent for their return to the Premier League.
