Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund are starting to seriously think about their summer transfer business, and they’re considering Newcastle United youngster Yankuba Minteh.
The Bundesliga club parted ways with Edin Terzic last week with a series of emotional statements from both club and manager. He’s been replaced by Nuri Sahin, who has a long association with Borussia Dortmund.
Transfer decisions will likely be taken by others, though, and a list of potential signings has been shared by Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
He says Minteh, Ferdi Kadıoğlu and Jerdy Schouten are all possibles right now. However, it’s only the Newcastle player he gives more information on.
According to Plettenberg, Minteh becomes a serious option if Dortmund can’t secure Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, or if they lose one of their own wingers.
Given BVB only want to take Sancho on loan at this stage, and the Red Devils aren’t keen on that, then Minteh becoming a serious option looks likely.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Feyenoord, and provided plenty to suggest he’s a talent to watch for the future.
