Tottenham director of football Johan Lange has already spoken to Eintracht Frankfurt over goalkeeper Kauã Santos, particularly after his impressive display against his side last week.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say after his ‘spectacular’ saves in the Europa League quarter-final clash against Tottenham last week, interest in the 22-year-old has risen.
Tottenham technical director Johan Lange, and Manchester United’s Christopher Vivell, both spoke to Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche about the Brazilian during the match.
Both clubs are believed to have him on their radar, alongside ‘all the top clubs in Europe’ but Krösche has already moved to protect Frankfurt buy tying Santos to a deal until 2030. He’s very much planning long-term with the goalkeeper. They want €60m for him in future.
The plan, for the player and his entourage is well, is to let him develop at the club before moving on at some point down the line.
Lange has already started the conversation on Tottenham’s behalf, though, perhaps trying to get ahead of the competition.
Now we would point out that this feels like the usual German hype for a player, in which they’ll throw out a big sum like €60m and name Premier League clubs as being interested.
That could be why Tottenham are suddenly in the picture, despite not needing a goalkeeper and being very unlikely to ever spend €60m on one either.
We’ll take this with a pinch of salt based on that, but Santos is undoubtedly a player to keep an eye on moving forwards despite that.
