The Portuguese media has no doubt that Bruno Lage will soon be announced as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new manager, and now it’s claimed that the club’s transfer business is waiting for him.

As newspaper O Jogo today features a story on Ruben Vinagre, who’s a target for Sporting. They claim the player must wait until the new coach takes charge and decides what will be of his future.

The outlet claims Lage already has a work permit and is ‘about to become official’. Once he takes charge, he shall start to ‘mould’ the team and decide who’s staying and who’s going.

Sporting have reportedly started talks with Vinagre’s agents and showed their will to sign him this summer. They intend to bring the player to replace Nuno Mendes, who’s expected to be their big sale of the year.

Even though O Jogo doesn’t say anything about Benfica, the Eagles’ interest in Vinagre has been gaining some attention from the Portuguese media as well. Just yesterday, newspaper A Bola had a big story saying the Eagles are set to ‘fight’ their city rivals for the signing this summer.

Now it seems nothing will happen until Lage arrives at Molineux, and according to those claims, that shouldn’t take a lot longer.

Vinagre spent last season on loan at Famalicão, and speaking to the Portuguese media last week, he claimed he’s ‘ready’ to play for a big Liga NOS club in case of a move in this transfer window.
