Saul Niguez potentially leaving Atletico Madrid has been a feature ahead of most transfer windows in recent years, without a great deal actually happening.

Manchester United are the club most linked, with Chelsea occasionally thrown into the mix, and that’s been the exact scenario ahead of the coming summer market.

Multiple Spanish sources have been insisting that this time the situation is different than it has been before, with Diego Simeone’s side ready to listen to offers.

Saul himself is also said to be keen on a new adventure, having lost prominence at the Madrid club.

Marca, just like others, report Manchester United and Chelsea are attentive to the situation, however, they take a sledgehammer to most of the other claims.

AS and others had suggested a potential transfer fee of €80m, and Marca almost go as far as to laugh at such a high amount. They believe €40-50m is much more realistic, but even then they feel Saul won’t find it easy to locate a club willing to pay.

Atletico are also said to doubt that such an offer will arrive, and there’s been no firm proposals so far… from any club of any amount.
