Wolverhampton Wanderers are yet to make a ‘formal offer’ for Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, but have made ‘surveys’ for the youngster.
That’s according to El Esquiu, who back up reports that Julen Lopetegui’s side are interested in the 20-year-old.
Wolves have been linked with Alcaraz since November, when an initial report stated they were interested in the Argentine and had asked for information about him.
That’s been followed by claims of them being ‘serious’ contenders’ for his signature while at the end of last month it was reported that Alcaraz was ‘being approached’ by Wolves and could have an €18m asking price.
Whether that’s a figure Lopetegui and co are ready to pay is unknown as yet and it seems they are yet to make an offer.
El Esquiu report that Wolves are ‘following his footsteps’ and while there has been no formal offer as yet, there have been ‘surveys’ about his availability.
They may have to move quickly, though, as Southampton have already seen an €11m bid rejected and negotiations are continuing over a possible deal.
There is a belief that one can be reached so Wolves may need to make a decision over whether they really want Alcaraz or just keep scouting him.
