Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Boubacar Traoré is close to returning to former club Metz on a season-long loan deal.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that Metz and Wolves have reached an agreement regarding the 23-year-old.
They state that the Malian is just one step away from a loan return to the French side, with Wolves partially covering his salary.
Metz, recently promoted back to Ligue 1, are expecting to welcome Traoré back to the club on a one-year loan deal. He left them for Wolves in an €11m deal in July 2023.
His contract at Molineux runs until June 2028 but it appears he is not in their immediate plans, and they’re now set to sanction a loan back to Metz. In fact, they’re even willing to cover a portion of his ‘hefty salary’.
L’Equipe report that there are still a few documents to finalise before the midfielder is given the green light, but both sides have reached an agreement for him. The deal is expected to be finalised as early as Wednesday, once the final details have been worked out between the two clubs.
