West Ham United are in the picture to sign Real Madrid’s Mariano Díaz in the summer.

The forward has struggled for regular game time ever since he returned to the La Liga side in 2018. His deal expires in June and he’s set to leave Los Blancos as a free agent.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who state West Ham are one of the teams that ‘value his signing’ after this season.

David Moyes’ side invested in Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings in the last two windows and the duo, along with Michael Antonio, have failed to impress regularly in the league.

With the Hammers looking to bolster their attack next season, they are interested in the Real Madrid forward. It’s not the first time the London club have asked about Mariano as he’s been on their radar for a ‘long time’.

The former Lyon man will be available for free in the summer and West Ham ‘want to take advantage’ of the opportunity to secure his services.

Earlier this week, the player’s agent, David Aranda, told Bolavip Santos haven’t contacted him and also revealed he’s in contact with a few Premier League sides.

“Every three months we have contact with other teams…In the end he has always been on the market. His profile, characteristics and trajectory are always very appetizing. We have chances to go to the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Calcio or other teams…I don’t talk about the market with Mariano,” he said.

On deciding his client’s next destination, Aranda explained: “A team where he can be happy suits him, it’s not that he’s not happy in Madrid, but that his contract is running out. A team where you can continue to be happy, regardless of whether you play more or less. There are many circumstances to take into account.”
