Vladyslav Vanat’s performances for Dynamo Kyiv have seen him attract interest from a few clubs, including Sunderland. He scored 21 goals and registered nine assists from 45 games last season.

On June 10th, we covered claims from Ukraine which stated the Black Cats are the favourites to sign the striker.

Four days ago, journalist Igor Burbas reported Vanat’s price has been raised from €20m to €25m. This was dismissed by journalist Mikhail Spivakovsky on Monday, who insisted the Sunderland target has a €20m release clause.

Another Ukrainian journalist and commentator, Viktor Vatsko, now backs up Spivakovsky’s claim about the clause and provides more on this case. Dynamo.kiev.ua have relayed his comments.

According to Vatsko, Sunderland are keen on signing the Ukraine international but aren’t as attractive as another, as yet unnamed, Premier League side who have joined the conversation.

Vatsko adds Régis Le Bris’ side and the 23-year-old’s other suitors can afford to pay €20m but none of them have tabled a bid yet.

“There are no offers for Dynamo players at the moment. There is also nothing on Vanat, about whom a lot of things are written by various publishers and Telegram channels,” he said.

“There is interest from Sunderland, yes. There is interest from another PL club, which doesn’t belong to the generally recognised top category of clubs in this league, but this option is more attractive than Sunderland.”

If Sunderland want to secure Vanat’s services, they not only have to offer €20m but also convince the player.
