On June 10th, we covered claims from Italy that explained West Ham United have made initial contact to sign Udinese’s Nehuén Pérez in the summer window.

Three days later, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the defender is a concrete option to join the Hammers and it would cost them around €20m to sign him.

West Ham making contact for Pérez is backed up by Sky Italia, relayed by NapoliCalcio24.

They further state the Premier League side ‘intend to get serious’ about the 23-year-old, who was wanted by Napoli in the winter market.

Over at Tutto Udinese, they state the Argentine and Lorenzo Lucca are the two Udinese players to have received the most interest so far.

With regards to the centre-back, the report says Julen Lopetegui’s side have sounded him out. It’s claimed the London club would ‘like to make an attempt’ to convince Udinese’s owners, the Pozzo family, to sell the South American this summer.

West Ham will have to be wary of the the player’s former club, Atlético Madrid, who reportedly have a buyback option.

Pérez’s deal lasts until 2027, and he made 36 appearances for the Italian club last season.
