West Ham United have seen a €35m bid for defender Jean-Clair Todibo rejected by French side Nice.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who report that West Ham’s bid for the central defender was immediately dismissed by the Ligue 1 club.
According to their information, West Ham made an offer of around €35m for the French international, an amount that was considered below the expectations that Nice have put on Todibo.
The French side are preparing themselves for the defender to leave this summer, with him having gotten his career back on track since arriving in an €8.5m deal from Barcelona in July 2021.
They’re actively looking at replacements and have several options but that does not mean they will accept any price or rush through an exit either, particularly as Todibo still has a deal that runs until 2027.
It seems this is something West Ham have now discovered, with their initial €35m bid rejected out of hand.
L’Equipe make no mention of the price Nice would find acceptable or whether West Ham will return with another approach, just that their initial one has been rejected for now.
