Matias Soule has ‘interest from Leicester and, above all, West Ham’, report Calciomercato, as links with the Hammers continue in the Italian media.
For months there’s been reports in Italy stating that Juventus want to sell multiple youngsters in order to finance deals for older players and to help with contract renewals for the likes of Adrien Rabiot.
Soule spent last season on loan at Frosinone and the Argentine attacker is very highly rated. It’s no surprise there’s interest from the Premier League and that multiple clubs in England have been credited with interest.
West Ham are certainly leading the way in that regard right now, at least if the claims from Italy are to be believed.
One of the aspects which is a little puzzling, and that Tim Steidten should keep an eye on, is the price.
There’s been so many claims on how much Soule would cost that it’s a case of pin the tail in the donkey at anywhere from €18m to €40m.
A transfer at the latter end of that range seems overpriced, but Calciomercato say Juventus want €35-40m. It’s questionable they’ll get that and West Ham should likely be patient and wait for a lower fee, if another club pays what Juve want then so be it.
