Gerard Deulofeu was obviously pleased Barcelona secured the La Liga title over the weekend, but was also left somewhat irritated by the club’s celebration t-shirts.
After victory against Deportivo La Coruna won the title, and sent the opposition to Spain’s second division, Barcelona players were given celebration t-shirts.
Watford’s Deulofeu was then left surprised that his name wasn’t included on the list of players, despite him spending the first half of the season at the Camp Nou. Taking to social media, Deulofeu questioned whether he was a part of it all or not.
Now Barcelona have fed information to their local media and blamed a supplier, which is the best way to get out of any awkwardness. Mundo Deportivo report it was all just a mistake made by an outside company, and the footballer’s name will be on t-shirts worn during the title celebration today.
Deulofeu played 503 minutes in La Liga, scoring a goal and making an assist, before moving to Watford during the January transfer window.
Last week saw reports that Watford want to make his loan a permanent move, but also that Barcelona may prefer to extend Deulofeu’s contract so they can try another loan and then perhaps get a higher fee somewhere down the line. Forgetting him from the list of players probably isn’t the best way to go about that.
