Earlier this month, TyC Sports stated Manchester United have been in contact with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez for months.
A fresh report from TyC Sports states the 32-year-old has received interest from Manchester United, when covering Galatasaray’s desire to sign him this summer.
The Turkish champions have asked the conditions needed to take him away from Aston Villa. They are willing to make an offer for the Argentina international but the negotiations aren’t concrete yet.
Galatasaray legend Fernando Muslera recently left the club and there’s a need to find a replacement who can handle the pressure. This is where the Aston Villa player comes into the picture, and they will try to tempt him.
TyC Sport report the chances of the Turkish champions securing the World Cup winner are ‘very low’, considering that he’s attracting interest from elsewhere, including Manchester United.
Due to Aston Villa’s need to improve their finances, the outlet says they could be tempted to sell Martínez.
Bolavip also report Unai Emery’s side need to balance their books and this could facilitate the stopper’s transfer. Manchester United are the main option for Martínez, but they are ‘holding back’ because they haven’t yet sold André Onana.
This has allowed Galatasaray to make an attempt to try and sign him. Bolavip state they have opened talks to make him their No.1 stopper, and he can play in the Champions League, if he were to join them.
Despite this, the Aston Villa man isn’t keen on joining Galatasaray because his desire is to play at the highest level, to be in best shape for the 2026 World Cup. Therefore, he is ‘still waiting for Manchester United’, who haven’t qualified for Europe but can offer the Premier League.
Bolvaip seem to be pushing Martínez to Old Trafford, while TyC Sports, the biggest sports outlet in Argentine, only mention the Red Devils in passing. A lot of this feels like Emiliano Martínez’s camp, and the Argentine media, wanting a Manchester United transfer… more than actual Red Devils efforts.
