According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce have joined the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.
The Ghanian international has recently been linked with their local rivals Galatasaray and his future at Arsenal should be resolved in the coming weeks.
Fotospor have reported on the latest developments regarding Partey’ future. It’s claimed Fener’s president Ali Koc has held a meeting with the Arsenal player, but he can’t yet make an official move for him.
With Fenerbahce in the middle of presidential elections, Koc will not be able to get a done deal for Partey, but is said to have told the 30-year-old to ‘wait for the election’. It’s expected the presidential results will be revealed early next month and if Koc remains in power he will then sit down with Arsenal.
Earlier this month we covered reports from Turkey that Galatasaray were interested in Partey as they looked to take advantage of his position at Arsenal. His season has been hampered by injury and when he did return he struggled to make the starting eleven.
Partey is contracted to the Gunners until June 2025.
