On Thursday, we covered a big report from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport on Junior Firpo potentially swapping Leeds United for Lazio.

The 28-year-old has a contract expiring at the end of June and there’s still uncertainty about his future. According to the Italian newspaper, Firpo’s agent has visited Lazio’s Formello offices. You First agency are said to have spoken with Angelo Mariano Fabiani, trying to tempt the sporting director into making a move for the Leeds United player.

Reading between the lines, it’s not the only club who the soon to be free agent has been offered to.

Il Messaggero touch upon the chances of Lazio actually taking the bait, and they state Loum Tchaouna could be sold to PSG for €15m, and that’s why Fabiani isn’t ruling Firpo out. The pair don’t play the same position so that throws some confusion on things, but the general line from Italy is that the transfer idea hasn’t been dismissed.

Over in Spain, things have gone quiet regarding Real Betis interest, but then the club is completely focused on their UEFA Conference League final next week. A newspaper local to Betis this week contacted Firpo’s entourage and were informed he has a good offer on the table to renew with Leeds United.
