Hidemasa Morita continues to be in transfer limbo after Leeds United changed their minds about signing him this summer, reports Wednesday’s edition of Record.

Leeds United have been credited with interest in the Sporting CP player on several occasions this year, although it’s already been reported they’d got cold feet after becoming concerned with the 30-year-old’s inconsistent form.

Over the second half of last season, Morita had several injury absences and that’s a greater concern considering the Japan international is in the autumn of his career.

Record report Morita is ‘between a renewal and England’ after he ruled out the possibility of a move to Turkish football. He really wants a move to the Premier League and is hoping his agent can conjure something up.

Leeds United is the only club mentioned, but it’s stated their interest has stalled and they’ve not gone through with making an offer.

Sporting could press for a renewal, with the player now having less than a year of contract left, but it doesn’t appear Morita will sign one unless he’s convinced his chances of a move to England’s top flight are over.
