Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are both keen on signing Valencia’s David Otorbi.
That’s according to journalist Salva Gomis, and he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover Tottenham and Aston Villa interest.
The 17-year-old is a product of Los Ches’ youth system and made his way into their first team last year.
He made three appearances for the La Liga club’s senior team so far and has featured regularly for their reserve team this season. The winger’s performances and profile would have convinced Tottenham and Aston Villa.
According to Gomis, Spurs have taken further steps by tabling a €4m bid for the Spain U18 international. He adds Valencia have rejected it as it doesn’t meet their requirements.
The journalist claims Valencia’s Singaporean billionaire owner Peter Lim is asking for €5m plus a percentage on a future sale. There’s no indication on whether Tottenham intend to return with an improved offer.
If they do, Tottenham will face competition from their Premier League counterpart. Gomis states Aston Villa are preparing an offensive for Otorbi late in the winter market.
The Villans are aware of the fee needed to secure his services and whether they’ll match Valencia’s request remains to be seen.
Otorbi will turn 18 years of age later this October meaning he can’t arrive in the UK until January 2026 even if Tottenham or Aston Villa agree deal for his transfer now.
