Tottenham have no intention of selling Richarlison to Palmeiras, the Brazilian club are not interested in him anymore and he wants to remain in the Premier League anyway.

That’s according to journalist Jorge Nicola, who pours cold water all over the transfer rumour with his latest information.

Richarlison is currently in Brazil recovering from his latest injury set back after an injury ravaged season for Tottenham so far.

He was recently spotted visiting Palmeiras’ training ground, which led to speculation that he could be set to join the Brazilian club.

This was boosted by the fact that Palmeiras had made a move for him last month, sounding out the Tottenham man and his entourage as they sought a striker before their transfer window closed.

A move didn’t happen as they eventually spent big on Vitor Roque from Barcelona, ending their need for a striker and any links to Richarlison in the process.

That hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from churning, though, particularly with Richarlison spotted at their training ground.

The idea has since been dismissed, with it explained that he was simply visiting a doctor he knows while in Brazil who happens to work for Palmeiras too. Now Nicola wants to ensure it doesn’t come back either.

“It is important to remember that in December, in search of a center forward, Palmeiras sounded out Tottenham and also Richarlison,” he said.

“And I heard from both sides that there was no chance of a deal. That Tottenham was counting on Richarlison, and that the Brazilian striker intends to continue in the Premier League.

“What made fans imagine some change in this scenario was Richarlison’s presence at the Football Academy. But there is no chance of an agreement, zero.

“Richarlison remains convinced that he needs to stay in the Premier League and, to top it all off, Palmeiras is no longer looking for a center forward. The signing of Vitor Roque filled that gap. Given this scenario, it is safe to say that Palmeiras is not even talking, negotiating or considering signing Richarlison at this time.”
