Tottenham Hotspur have come forward for Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who state the north London club ‘want to sign’ the defender in the summer.

Eric Dier and Davinson Sánchez have struggled in Spurs’ defence this season, and taking this and Tottenham’s poor run into account, they want to reinforce their defence in the next window.

This is where the Denmark international would fit in, who has starred since he joined the La Liga side for free last summer. The centre-back has been performing at a ‘very high level’ for the Catalan club and it has seen his market value increase.

At the same time, the 27-year-old’s form has attracted interest from the Premier League, where Spurs are in the mix.

Tottenham already took Clément Lenglet on loan from Barcelona last summer. This has helped the two clubs maintain a ‘good relationship’, which could be helpful in a potential deal for the former Chelsea man.

Xavi Hernández’s side are struggling financially and have identified Christensen as one of the sale candidates to help them raise funds.

Fichajes.net only provide Barcelona and Tottenham’s stance on a possible deal and does not mention Christensen’s own plans for his future.
