Trabzonspor Head of Football Ozkan Sumer has spoken to Turkish newspaper Milliyet about the future of Tottenham Hotspur target Abdulkadir Omur.

Tottenham have been linked with Omur in recent weeks, following recent claims the London club have put in a bid for the youngster.

Turkish journalist Erdal Hos said Tottenham are interested in Omur and have approached Trabzonspor with a ‘concrete offer’.

When asked about Omur leaving Trabzonspor, Sumer replied: “I spend a lot of time in this club and I’ve seen very talented players. Abdulkadir, Yusuf and Okay. They are very good, they have a lot of potential but it’s not the time right now. They have to develop further and add to their value.

“If they do that, then they’ll have a chance to become top players. So I think it’s too soon for Omur and others to leave the club because they have a job to do in Trabzon, and they owe it to the city.”

Spurs could face competition to sign Omur this summer after reports Arsenal and Liverpool are showing interest.

Nicknamed the ‘Turkish Messi’, the 18 year old left-footed winger has scored 3 goals this season and made 5 assists. Omur is under contract with Trabzonspor until 2022.

The player is tipped for a bright future in the game and will likely play in a major European league at some point in his career.
