Werder Bremen head of first team football Clemens Fritz has insisted he will doing what he can to keep Justin Njinmah from the likes of Everton this summer.

Fritz has been discussing Njinmah today after a report yesterday made it clear that Everton and Wolves are showing an interest in the 23-year-old ahead of the summer.

That report, from Kicker, explained that Everton and several other sides were looking at a potential deal for the winger, who is Werder’s second top goalscorer this season.

His tally of six goals and two assists in 24 games in the Bundesliga, a tally made even more impressive by the fact he’s only played in 36% of the available minutes, has apparently earned him admirers and Everton are one of them.

His current situation is unclear as he signed a new contract with the German side last year, but the length of that deal has not been revealed since then.

It seems, though, Werder Bremen are concerned about the situation and the reports of Everton being interested, though, as Fritz has admitted they will be focusing on his situation and intensifying talks over a new deal.

“(We’ll be) intensify discussions with the player at the appropriate time,” he said ahead of their game with Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.

“It is clear to us that we will plan normally with Justin next season. Basically, he still has a contract. Justin has had a good severtason so far. It’s normal that one or another club is interested.”
