Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has been restricted to only three league starts this season and isn’t pleased with his situation at Tottenham Hotspur.
Juventus are in the market for a new midfielder and could decide to bet heavily on the 28-year-old. That’s according to Tuttosport, via TuttoMercatoWeb, who state the Serie A side like him ‘a lot’.
The Old Lady are aiming for a loan deal with an option to buy even if Tottenham are looking for an obligation to buy set at €30m. Juve ‘could untie the knot’ by selling Samuel Iling-Junior or Matias Soulé.
Højbjerg is the priority target for the Turin club, who will give more importance to this track after Atlético Madrid closed the door on Rodrigo De Paul’s exit and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips didn’t please Massimiliano Allegri.
Il Giornale state Juve like the Denmark international a lot and have to beat competition from Napoli and Atlético to secure his services.
Meanwhile, Tutto Juve journalist Mirko Di Natale claims Ange Postecoglou’s side are ‘open’ to letting the former Southampton man leave on loan with an obligation to buy for less than €30m.
He adds Juventus are keen on Højbjerg and have had contacts with the intermediaries involved in this operation between September and October.
Although Spurs are willing to let go of the Dane, Di Natale says they want to first secure his replacement before sanctioning a move in January.
