Last week, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s agent Luca Puccinelli stated a decision on his future at Tottenham Hotspur is expected to be made after the Euros.

Bild claim the midfielder is the ‘new name’ added to Borussia Dortmund’s target list as manager Nuri Şahin wants to bolster his side’s midfield in the summer window.

Højbjerg’s game time at Tottenham was restricted last season as he managed only eight league starts and two more in the cup competitions. He has a year left on his contract.

Taking these factors into account, it’s claimed he’ll be ‘allowed to leave’ Spurs for a ‘small fee’. The Denmark international is ‘not averse’ against the idea of leaving Tottenham this summer.

The Champions League finalists want to sign a new No.6 this summer as Emre Can and Salih Özcan weren’t convincing last season. The Tottenham player has been identified as one of the options.

Højbjerg knows the Bundesliga well as he had spells at Bayern Munich, Augsburg and Schalke before arriving in England in 2016. As well as BVB, Fenerbahçe have him on their radar.

Bild say Dortmund are prioritising deals for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Pascal Gross, VfB Stuttgart’s Waldemar Anton and Serhou Guirassy. They would look at the Tottenham man if Can or Özcan were to leave this summer.

In short, despite showing interest in the Dane, he isn’t the priority target for BVB.
