Tottenham Hotspur were credited with an interest in Kim Min-jae before he joined Napoli from Fenerbahçe in the summer window.
Earlier reports from July had indicated the defender was hoping to make a switch to the north London club after claims from Turkey discussed Spurs interest in him.
On September 9th, the South Korea international’s ‘close collaborator’, Ho Lee, revealed that Tottenham and several other sides tried signing the player before he agreed to move to the Serie A side.
The centre-back arrived in Europe when Fenerbahçe took him from Chinese side Beijing Guoan in 2021. According to Area Napoli, the Premier League side had their eyes on him even before he joined the Turkish club.
It’s said Tottenham were the first ones to notice Min-jae’s qualities and had ‘almost taken him’. Spurs weren’t successful in securing the 25-year-old’s services.
Antonio Conte’s side haven’t forgotten about the central defender, who has excelled for the Naples club this season.
The report suggests Tottenham and other sides could come to take Min-jae away from the Italian club, but it won’t be easy because Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis will not be ready to give up the player.
