With Nicolo Zaniolo leaving Roma for Galatasaray after a long January saga, we really thought they would be a break with him linked to Premier League clubs for a while.
But Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the midfielder is back to being mentioned today by Calciomercato, who features a special stories on players who’ve been targeted by both Spurs and Milan.
Zaniolo is one of them, with both clubs failing to sign him from Roma in the winter market.
It’s said Tottenham and Milan both tried to sign the midfielder on a loan with an option to buy.
The Giallorossi turned down both attempts, and ended up agreeing his sale to Galatasaray.
Now Calciomercato claims the duo between Spurs and the Rossoneri ‘will come up again’ next summer.
This time, there’s a price set for his transfer, since the Turkish side have him protected by a €35m release clause.
That’s obviously a rumour for us to take easy, since Calciomercato are just bringing a list of players who have been disputed by clubs in the past and throws those claims in, but if Tottenham are actually chasing Zaniolo again in the summer, then their job has been made a lot easier.
