Last month, Sport stated Tottenham are keen to sign Franck Kessié and have asked Barcelona about the conditions needed to get him.
The 26-year-old could be on his way out of the Camp Nou, a year after he joined them for free. That’s according to Sport, who state Tottenham would be an option for the midfielder.
Xavi Hernández’s side have identified a few potential sales and are putting pressure on those players to accept a transfer. Although nobody wants to leave the La Liga side, these players ‘have no other option’ but to go.
The former AC Milan man is included in the list and if he has to change clubs, he prefers to return to Serie A. The problem for the Blaugrana is Inter, Milan or Juventus can’t meet his asking price.
In recent weeks, Barca rejected two exchange proposals from Inter, one with Joaquín Correa and another with Denzel Dumfries. Therefore, the Blaugrana are aiming to push their player to the Premier League or Bundesliga.
Barcelona’s priority is to find a club who will pay a minimum fee of €35m for Kessié. There’s been speculation about Liverpool, but Sport state Tottenham seem ‘better positioned’ from England.
It won’t be easy for Tottenham to sign Kessié because he wants to join a club that can offer him European football.
Spurs have failed to qualify for Europe after finishing eighth.
With Barcelona keen to sell and Tottenham ‘better positioned’ to sign the player, a deal could be carried out if Spurs can somehow convince Kessié.
