Tottenham Hotspur and Everton could battle it out for Galatasaray’s Barış Alper Yılmaz in the last two weeks of this window.
On August 3rd, we relayed news of the Turkish club rejecting Everton’s €35m bid for the winger. The Toffees have been planning to return with an improved bid.
Four days later, Sport Witness covered claims from Turkey of Tottenham being expected to offer €50m.
Tottenham and Everton take action

The Premier League duo have knocked on the Istanbul club’s door for the 26-year-old.
Fanatik report both Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have made verbal offers approaching €40m.
It isn’t clear whether the figure is including or excluding bonuses and there’s no mention of Galatasaray’s response.
Barış Alper Yılmaz, for his part, hasn’t decided yet on his immediate future. The report adds ‘significant developments could occur in the next 10 days’, meaning there is a possibility for the player to leave the Süper Lig winners.
Galatasaray could consider sale
Barış Alper Yılmaz has two years left on his contract, and Transfermarkt value him at €30m. The Istanbul club intend to hold on to the attacker.
However, the high offers from the Premier League could make them change their stance.
It’s worth noting that three days ago, journalist Serdar Ali Çelikler reported Galatasaray want to sell Barış Alper Yılmaz and Gabriel Sara.
“The fact that Galatasaray can’t sell any players is a bigger issue that needs to be discussed. They put Gabriel Sara and Barış Alper Yılmaz on the market 50 times, and it didn’t work,” he said.
Earlier claims mentioned of Galatasaray wanting €50m for the Turkey international. There may be a possibility for them to accept a lower fee towards the end of the window.
There would only be movements if the player is open to joining Tottenham Hotspur or Everton.
Barış Alper Yılmaz has managed 37 goals and 36 assists from 207 matches for Gala, and 12 goals and 16 assists were from last season.
