Earlier this week, AS stated Real Madrid have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane as their ‘favourite’ target. It was also reported the striker has ‘already made a decision’ to leave the Premier League side in the summer.
Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff are keen to bring the 29-year-old to the club and this is relayed by Friday’s AS.
It’s stated the Tottenham star is considered as the top forward who ‘meets the requirements to withstand the pressure and maximum demands’ of Real Madrid.
The England international’s contract expires in 2024 and despite his desire to leave, Spurs are not willing to let him join another English club in the upcoming window.
It would help the La Liga side should Tottenham chief Daniel Levy prefers to sell Kane to a foreign club. Levy seems to be open to this idea.
According to AS, the north London club have ‘already given Real Madrid the first figure’ to negotiate the player’s sale and it’s set at €100m.
This is a high figure for the Spanish side, considering Kane has a year left on his deal.
Kane is ‘option A’ for Ancelotti and his staff, while Chelsea’s Kai Havertz is ‘option B’, The latter, who can also operate across other attacking positions, is valued at €60m.
With Karim Benzema deciding to stay until 2024, AS add this could change Real Madrid’s plans to sign a new No.9 in the next window.
