Rocco Vata made his debut for Celtic’s first team when he came off the bench in their 4-1 win over Hibernian FC on Wednesday.
The attacking midfielder, who can also operate anywhere in the front three, is a product of the Scottish champions’ youth system. He has impressed for Celtic B team this season, managing 10 goals and an assist from 22 matches.
Vata’s impressive displays have convinced Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou to hand him first senior appearance yesterday.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, there were ‘many observers’ who watched the 19-year-old in action for Celtic.
This includes scouts from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atlético Madrid and a few Serie A sides.
From Italy, AS Roma, Juventus and AC Milan are all said to be ‘interested’ in the Republic of Ireland U19 international, and it’s not the first time clubs in the United Kingdom and across Europe have been credited with an interest in Vata.
Back in October, the same outlet stated Celtic had been instructed by Postecoglou not to let go of the youngster amid other clubs closely following Vata.
The versatile player signed his first professional contract at Parkhead in July 2021, and it runs down in 2024.
