Manchester City have been credited with interest in OGC Nice’s Khéphren Thuram.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who name the Citizens when discussing Juventus’ desire to sign the 22-year-old.
Cristiano Giuntoli, the Serie A side’s sporting director, is looking to strengthen his side’s midfield in January following Nicolò Fagioli’s suspension and off-field issues around Paul Pogba.
The Old Lady have identified the France international as one of their targets and they really like him. A deal won’t be easy because of competition from other European clubs and the Ligue 1 side’s stance.
Manchester City are mentioned as the contender and it’s claimed ‘there has been interest’ from the treble winners to sign the player.
Thuram’s deal expires in 2025 and Calciomercato.it state Nice don’t intend to part ways with him in January, unless there’s a ‘truly irrefutable proposal’. There’s no mention of any figures in the report.
Manchester City summer signings Mateo Kovačić and Matheus Nunes mainly operate in the middle of the pitch, a position that the Frenchman has been used at Nice this season.
Thuram can also be used as a defensive midfielder and Pep Guardiola’s side may consider him for the same position if Kalvin Phillips were to leave the Etihad.
Recent claims from Italy have explained that Liverpool are keen on signing Thuram.
