Samu Aghehowa’s performances for FC Porto this season have seen him linked to a few clubs, including Arsenal.
The striker joined the Dragons from Atlético Madrid last summer and managed 20 goals and three assists from 33 games.
Earlier this month, we covered claims from Portugal which stated Arsenal are one of the clubs keeping an eye on the 20-year-old.
The latest claims in the UK have stated that the Gunners have Aghehowa as an option to reinforce their attack in the summer window. Thursday’s edition of Record relays that and then provides their own updates on this case.
Despite the Arsenal links, the newspaper claims ‘the truth is’ that the Premier League club haven’t approached Porto or the player regarding a potential transfer.
Record further explain that Aghehowa is only focused on his club and Spain, if he were to receive a call up from Luis de la Fuente. The frontman already made his debut for La Roja last November.
Aghehowa’s contract at Porto expires in 2029 and includes a €100m release clause.
