Flamengo Technical director José Boto is ‘doing his utmost’ to sign Jorginho from Arsenal and holding numerous meetings about the transfer.
That’s according to journalist Venê Casagrande, who says Boto has been meeting with agents authorised by the Arsenal man and the player himself to discuss the move.
Indeed, according to the journalists information, he has held meetings with Jorginho via video-call, with his agents present, on more than one occasion to talk about the transfer.
Jorginho has been linked with a move to the Brazilian side throughout this month as they look for signings before the end of the window.
The midfielder is out of contract in the summer, and it seems Flamengo’s hope is to convince Arsenal to sell now rather than lose him on a free. It has been reported, though, that Arsenal would like to get the veteran signed to a new deal ahead of the summer.
He’s made it clear he would love a move to Brazil, further encouraging Flamengo to continue with their efforts to get him.
Casagrande now reports that their technical director, Boto is ‘doing his utmost’ to secure the signing. He’s been meeting with the player and his agents, on more than one occasion, to discuss the potential deal for the midfielder.
Whether that proves to be successful remains to be seen, and still depends on Arsenal agreeing to it, but efforts are being made.
