Swansea City have made contact with Sirius to try and sign midfielder Leo Walta in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Sportbladet. They report that Swansea have made initial contact over the 22-year-old.
They explain that Walta has earned himself interest from Swansea after a goal filled 2025. He’s scored 16 goals and registered three assists in 30 games across the year.
He’s been linked with a move abroad for some time and is expected to move in the January transfer window. Now things are starting to move around, and it is Swansea making efforts.
The Championship side have made initial contact regarding the midfielder. They have also held initial contacts with the player and his entourage. This is something that Sirius are aware of.
An interesting context is that manager Kim Hellberg wanted to sign Walta for current side Hammarby. He’s currently in London spealing to Swansea about their managerial position. The fact that Walta is suddenly being targeted by Swansea feels more than coincidental.
Whether they win the race, remains to be seen. But initial contact has been made and there’s every chance he could be Hellberg’s first signing too, if he gets the job of course.
