Leeds United settled for a point against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday, in their first game since they sacked Jesse Marsch earlier this week.
The Whites are currently without a permanent manager and are searching the market to appoint the American’s successor.
Reports in the English and the Dutch press have talked about Leeds interest in Feyenoord manager Arne Slot.
On Wednesday, Voetbal International journalist Martijn Krabbendam stated the 44-year-old would fit well at the Premier League side. There was also a mention about a release clause in the Dutchman’s contract.
Feyenoord overcame NEC Nijmegen on penalties in the KNVB Cup clash yesterday. After the tie, Slot was quizzed about the recent reports of Leeds considering him for their new manager.
“Yes, I have read it on the well-known football site, but I have not seen anything on my phone yet. At least not in my messages,” he said, as quoted by Algemeen Dagblad.
The Eredivisie coach has not mentioned what he plans to do if Leeds were to contact him.
“Suppose they do call? Yes, suppose that, I can’t do much with that. I think we should be especially happy with this victory,” Slot explained.
Leeds will host the Red Devils on Sunday and it remains to be seen whether or not they will have a permanent manager for the weekend league tie.
