Wolverhampton Wanderers want Fábio Silva back at Molineux in the winter market, as per La Dernière Heure.
The striker is on a season-long loan deal at Anderlecht and has impressed for them by managing nine goals and three assists in all competitions.
Julen Lopetegui has been appointed as the new Wolves manager. He is looking to strengthen his side’s attack in January and has set the sights on the 20-year-old.
Having invested in excess of €100m in the summer, the budget for the next window is likely to be tighter. Therefore, recalling the Portugal U21 international is a ‘real option’ in the next window.
Wolves don’t have an option to cut short the player’s loan stay at Anderlecht. If they want him back before the end of this season, then it will ‘not be free’ for the English club.
Anderlecht, for their part, have no intention of parting ways with Silva midway through the season. In order to change their mind, they will need to be compensated. At the moment, the Belgian club have not received any request or offer from Wolves.
The outlet also provides Silva’s position on a potential return to his parent club in January. DH state this ‘possibility exists’ since the player feels ‘too lonely’ up front and is neither happy with himself nor the situation at Anderlecht.
Silva’s contract at Molineux expires in 2026. DH explain that if Wolves were to ask him to put pressure on Anderlecht to leave, the frontman will ‘not have much choice’ but to take this step.
