With a need for a new striker at Rangers, Michael Beale and his staff are scouring the European market to find the right man.
Their hunt, it appears, has led them to the Netherlands, where Feyenoord’s Danilo Pereira da Silva has ended up on their radar and impressed enough for the Ibrox side to make an offer.
That’s according to 1908.nl, who state Rangers ‘have become concrete’ for the Brazilian striker, and have ‘thrown in an opening bid’ to try and convince the Eredivisie side.
This means the two clubs have now ‘entered negotiations for a final transfer’ regarding the player, who would arrive to complement the arrival of Sam Lammers, who completed a transfer from Atalanta a couple of weeks ago.
Rangers ‘want to finish early in the transfer window’, as they need to prepare for the Champions League qualification rounds, which kick off during the summer.
While there are no details regarding the amount of money put on the table by the Ibrox residents, Transfermarkt evaluates the Brazilian at around €6.5m, which could be a good indicator of how much Feyenoord might want for him.
Danilo arrived at the Eredivisie champions on a free transfer from Ajax Amsterdam last year, and contributed with 14 goals and four assists in 48 games this season.
