On September 3rd, Tuttosport reported Juventus raised a wall after Chelsea and Arsenal made approaches for Kenan Yildiz in the summer window.
Calciomercato backs up Blues’ interest, providing more details on their approach and why they failed to secure the 20-year-old’s services.
It’s claimed Chelsea tabled a €70m bid to try and snatch the forward away from Juventus, but it was rejected because Yildiz was ‘practically unsellable’. They say he has become the new ‘poster boy’ of the Turin club.
The Turkey international managed 12 goals and nine assists from 52 games last season. He cemented his place this season, managing a goal and three assists from three league games, including a goal and an assist in Juve’s 4-3 win over Inter Milan at the weekend.
Calciomercato report the attacker was valued at €10m two years ago and is now worth over €100m [Transfermarkt currently values him at €50m]. He’s got potential to further improve his game while shining for the Old Lady on the pitch.
Yildiz’s contract lasts until 2029, and the report states Juventus are ready to finalise his renewal until 2030 with a salary of €5m net per year. This is the ‘fitting reward’ for his impressive performances.
Having seen their summer offer rejected, it’s unclear whether Chelsea will return for him next year. Should they decide to make a fresh approach in 2026, Enzo Maresca’s side will need big money, especially if Yildiz were to sign an extension.
