Juventus continue to have a hard time advancing in negotiations for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
As TuttoMercatoWeb today brings an update on the situation, they describe the ‘uphill road’ the Bianconeri are having to face to get the signing done in the January transfer window.
The outlet claims that Højbjerg is keen on a ‘change of scenery’ to play more and Ange Postecoglou ‘could indeed give his blessing’ to this transfer, as long as Tottenham bring in a replacement.
That’s not the first time it’s been stated the manager wants a signing in first, and it seems a key point.
The problem is that Spurs have specific demands. They want a sale, or a loan with a nearly guaranteed permanent move, and that for a €30m fee.
The figures are said to be ‘too high’ for Juventus, who don’t want to make that kind of investment before the summer window.
TuttoMercatoWeb say this becomes a ‘difficult’ mission for the Old Lady, as the transfer would only be possible in case Tottenham change the terms. The Premier League side would first need to accept a loan with an option to buy, and then drop the transfer’s price.
