Jobe Bellingham’s decision about his future is getting closer as a departure from Sunderland looks likely this summer.
That’s according to BILD, who say the midfielder will decide his future once Sunderland have played in the play-off final against Sheffield United.
At the moment it is a case of accepting Borussia Dortmund’s offer or letting another side persuade him. He has plenty of enquiries on the table.
Negotiations with Dortmund have been ‘fruitful’ so far but several clubs from the Premier League have now entered the poker game. Liverpool are considering him but ‘remaining cautious’ while Chelsea’s ‘financial strength’ makes them a hot option for him.
Dortmund still believe they have the best chance of winning the race, with the management trio of sporting director Lars Ricke, sporting director Sebastien Kehl and coach Nico Kovac working hard on the matter. They were spotted visiting England a few weeks ago to convince the Sunderland star.
They’d need to pay a transfer fee of around €30m for him but are seemingly willing to do so if everything goes to plan. For now, it’s a case of waiting for Bellingham to make his decision but the right pieces are in place.
