A couple of weeks ago we covered claims from Italy which stated West Ham United were tentatively moving to sign Kristjan Asllani from Inter Milan.

The midfielder has been the subject of criticism for his level this season, with that an ongoing theme in the Italian media. It was thought Inter Milan would be open to a deal so they could then move to sign a replacement in the market.

FCInterNews now report West Ham have made an approach in recent days, making it sound somewhat firmer than it did a couple of weeks ago.

The Hammers are said to have made contact with Inter Milan to ask about the possibility of signing the Albania international.

Unfortunately, the Serie A club are said to have responded with a ‘polite but firm refusal’ and sent West Ham on their way. FCInterNews report there wasn’t even interest in finding out the details of any offer because they now have faith in Kristjan Asllani.

There’s every chance West Ham interest is being used as an opportunity to show faith in the 22-year-old, via the media, now that Inter Milan’s options for a replacement are looking too difficult to sign.
