PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismael Saibari could end up at Arsenal in the summer, if he has a good time at the Africa Cup of Nations.
That’s according to Ali Boussaboun, who says it would not be surprising if Arsenal were to move for the 22-year-old at some point.
Saibari has been something of a regular for PSV this season, featuring in 52% of the available minutes so far in the league as well as featuring in Champions League qualifying and the group stages of the competition.
He’s managed 25 appearances in all competitions so far and impressed too, with a record of seven goals and three assists to his name.
It’s proving to be something of a breakout year for the youngster, who made 33 appearances in all competitions last season but mostly playing as a right winger, managing just one goal and four assists in total.
He appears to be better suited to the middle of the park and is showing that, with his performances not going unnoticed.
Indeed, he’s set to spend this month playing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, having been called up to the squad for the tournament despite only making his debut in September 2023.
He’ll be hoping to make his mark on that and Boussaboun believes if he does, a big move could be waiting for him in the summer.
“Ismael Saibari is great. He has wonderful technique, is so strong and really a team player,” he told NU.
“And he is so humble you almost want to hug him. He will miss the next few weeks because he will be playing for Morocco at the Africa Cup, but that is also beneficial for PSV.
“If Saibari does well there, his market value will rise by €10m or €20m. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal pick him up after the season. If PSV sell him for less than €60m, they have failed there.”
