Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Fluminense’s Nino and this has been reported regularly in the Brazilian media for the past few weeks.
Recent claims have stated the 26-year-old has an agreement with the Tricky Trees but he has insisted there’s nothing certain yet about a transfer.
Three days ago, Championat said Zenit St. Petersburg want to sign the Nottingham Forest target for a fee of around €6m.
O Dia relay this and then state the Russian club are behind Nuno Espírito Santo’s side in the transfer race.
It’s claimed the 26-year-old ‘has an offer’ from Nottingham Forest and ‘wants to play’ in the Premier League.
In addition to this, Zenit would be willing to pay €6m, which is less than the centre-back’s current asking price of €7m. O Dia add the Tricky Trees [and other unnamed European clubs] have already shown that they can match the fee requested.
These are the two reasons that favour Nino to join Nottingham Forest over Zenit in the winter market.
O Dia add the Brazilian is set to leave next month and Fluminense are ‘expected to close the deal’ with a European club. Whether that’ll be Nottingham Forest or another team remains to be seen.
Fluminense and Nino’s focus will now be on the Club World Cup final against Manchester City on Friday.
