Junior Firpo’s recent Instagram post, wearing former Leeds United teammate Marc Roca’s shirt, has been taken as hint that he’s set to join Real Betis.
That’s according to El Desmarque, who say the Leeds defender is counting the hours before he can sign for Betis officially and rejoin them this summer.
They explain that Firpo will become Betis’ third signing of the summer when his contract with Leeds expires at the end of the month. He is simply waiting to make that formal.
The defender has made no secret of his desire to return to his former club and has been hinting at that on social media. Firstly, he interacted with Marc Roca, a former Leeds teammate now at Betis. Then he posted a photo wearing Roca’s shirt on Thursday.
This was accompanied by an hourglass and a green heart, which, reading between the lines, has been seen as a further example of his desire to join Real Betis.
It’s adding to the transfer excitement at Heliópolis, where Firpo will arrive in one of the best moments of his career. He was key to Leeds promotion back to the Premier League this season with four goals and ten assists.
