Fikayo Tomori has his ‘phone close at hand’ waiting for calls from Coventry City, Hull City, Newcastle United and West Ham United.
Calciomercato report that the centre-back is ready to leave AC Milan this summer, after falling down the pecking order at the club.
Tomori waiting for offers
Milan have recently secured the €30m arrival of Mario Gila from Lazio. His arrival at the club has pushed Fikayo Tomori down the pecking order, leaving him at the bottom of Ruben Amorim’s defensive hierarchy.
While he has travelled to the UK as part of the group to take on Celtic in pre-season, he has done so with his ‘phone close at hand’. He is awaiting updates from his agents.
So far, the former Chelsea defender is attracting interest from Coventry City, Hull City, West Ham United and Newcastle United. Sport Witness have covered the latter already making enquiries.
He is waiting for the right offer to arrive from them or other suitors. The ‘right offer’ must come in terms of both finances and sporting project.
Fresh start
But he is keen for a fresh start after years of ‘giving his all’ to Rossoneri cause. He joined the Italian side in a €35.5m deal in 2021 after an initial loan deal at the club. He’s since made 214 appearances in all competitions for them, winning the title in 2022.
Now he is ready to move on and Amorim is ready to let him do so. The question is whether Coventry, Hull, West Ham or Newcastle do make a move in the coming weeks. Of those four, the Magpies would presumably be the bigger attraction.
But then a move to Hull would allow him to reunite with Frank Lampard, who he played under at Chelsea. There is also a question of price.
Transfermarkt currently value him at €17m, but he only has a year left on his deal with Milan. So, there may be movement on that on that front. For now, the 28-year-old is waiting for the offers to arrive.
